Norway teem delegation expresses delight over collaborative efforts to strengthen infrastructure at Visakhapatnam Port Authority using modern technology

AMARAVATI: A delegation of Norway teem Embassy, led by Ms. May-Ellin Gari, Ambassador of Norway to India, along with three officials, visited the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) today.
The delegation was welcomed by Smt. Roshni Aparanji Korati, Deputy Chairperson of VPA, Heads of various departments and senior officials of the Port.
The team Ambassador was given a comprehensive briefing on the state-of-the-art infrastructure of the Port and its strategic role in maritime trade.
The presentation highlighted the cargo handling capabilities of Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA), its ongoing modernization and mechanization programs, as well as the covered storage facilities being developed to enhance operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.
The environment-friendly initiatives undertaken by VPA, including solar power generation projects to promote renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions, were also highlighted.
In addition, as part of the Port’s commitment to sustainable water management, the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and its water recycling system, which are being used effectively for industrial purposes within the port premises, were showcased.
The meeting provided an opportunity to showcase the continuous efforts of Visakhapatnam Port Authority to adopt modern technology, strengthen infrastructure, and align its operations with global best practices.
