CONG PARTY HAS A HISTOR OF INSULTING THE CONSTITUTION: RAMCHANDER RAO
Hyderabad, Jan 26 :: Telangana State BJP President N Ramchander Rao today emphasized that the Indian constitution framed under the chairmanship of Dr B R Ambedkar has shown the path for how governments should function ad how democracy should continue.
He was addressing a gathering after unfurling national flag at state party office here. He said the constitution gave us not just rights, but also responsibilities.
Rao said unfortunately several attempts were made in the past to change and insult the constitution. Even though we gained Independence in 1947, there was no democratically elected government until 1951. At that time, Jawaharlal Nehru who was Prime Minister had remarked suggesting the constitution could be set aside if necessary. He was the first person to insult the constitution after becoming Prime Minister.
Former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi also tried to trample the constitution by imposing emergency and sending many political leaders across the country in the jail, he said adding that Rajiv Gandhi, too, did not respect the Constitution. After the Supreme Court verdict in the Shah Bano case, which reminded the nation of the need for a Uniform Civil Code (UCC), he brought the Muslim Women Protection Act to appease certain sections, thereby weakening the verdict and damaging the prestige of the judiciary.
Now a days Rahul Gandhi is carrying the constitution book in his hand everywhere but repeatedly insulting it, he alleged and blamed Rahul Gandhi of spreading misinformation regarding the decision taken by the Modi government.
The BJP state chief alleged that the Congress party has a history of insulting Dr B R Ambedkar and the constitution.
Rao said the right to vote is the most sacred right in a democracy. But only Indian citizens should have that rights and not foreigners or infiltrators. He alleged that in some areas, illegal immigrants were being added to voter lists with the help of local politicians. The SIR is meant to purify the voters lists by deleting names of dead persons and illegal voters.
He said Modi government has brought a new act VB G RAM G to provide employment guarantee to rural people in a transparent manner. The central government’s VB-G RAM G Act 2025 is a historical reform for Gram Swaraj (village self-rule). It puts an end to corruption and ensures public funds reach the people. While the MGNREGA scheme saw massive corruption and “fake job cards” under the UPA regime. PM Modi has reformed it to link employment with productivity, he asserted.
Rao alleged that the BRS party, which previously ruled Telangana, has done a grave injustice to all sections of society. The Congress party, which is currently in power, is following the same path as the BRS. There is no Rythu Bandhu for farmers, no fee reimbursement for students, and there are no jobs for the unemployed.
While the Narendra Modi government is depositing Rs 6,000 annually into farmers’ accounts through the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, the Congress party in the state is using public funds for its own selfish political gains, he said.
Today, the Congress party is walking hand-in-hand with the Majlis, Muslim League, and Maoists—it has transformed into ‘MMM’. While Maoists are being eliminated across the country, the Congress party in this state is providing them with inspiration. The Congress party has now entered into an alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami, an organization that once spoke of breaking the country apart. By claiming “Muslim is Congress, Congress is Muslim,” they are attempting to damage communal harmony, he alleged.
The same Congress and BRS parties that stifled development in Hyderabad by colluding with the MIM party are once again playing politics with that very same MIM today, he said and asserted that the Narendra Modi government is leading the country forward with the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”
The state BJP chief urged people of Telangana to reject the BRS and Congress, which have become corrupt parties, and to vote for the BJP in the upcoming municipal elections.
The flag unfurl function was attended by Rajya Sabha Member Dr. K. Laxman, BJP State General Secretaries Dr. N. Gautham Rao and Vemula Ashok, State Vice Presidents Dr. Kasam Venkateshwarlu, Dr. Boora Narsaiah Goud, and Banda Karthika Reddy, senior leaders Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Media Incharge N.V. Subhash, BJP Morcha leaders, and others.
Earlier, Rajya Sabha member Dr K Laxman was facilitated by state BJP party by Ramchander Rao who played a pivotal role as the Returning officer in successfully completing the elections process of party’s National Presiden Nitin Nabin.
