AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Rajahmundry The central government has approved the construction of a huge rail bridge over the Godavari river.

At present, the rail-cum-road bridge and another bridge are being used for the movement of trains on the Godavari river. The central government has decided to take up the construction of another bridge due to the recent increase in train congestion.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed happiness over the central government’s approval of a crucial railway project for Andhra Pradesh. He thanked the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The center has given the green signal for the construction of the 3rd and 4th railway lines from Nidadavol near Rajahmundry to Duvvada near Visakhapatnam.

Chandrababu Naidu said that as part of this project, a 4.3-km-long railway bridge will be built over the Godavari River. This will significantly reduce traffic congestion on that route and save travel time.

He said that these new lines will be very beneficial for passengers and freight transport by connecting different parts of the state.

In addition, the Chief Minister said that better travel facilities will be available for devotees going to famous spiritual places like Annavaram, Antarvedi and Draksharamam.

He believed that this project is crucial for the industrial growth of the state and the development of port-based economies. Chandrababu Naidu said that these projects are another step towards achieving the goals of Swarna Andhra and Vikasith Bharat.
