People should be alert as extreme heat waves are likely to hit Andhra Pradesh tomorrow – people with heart-related diseases, diabetes, and BP should not venture out in the sun – warns the Meteorological Department.

AMARAVATI; Severe heatwave is likely in 23 mandals and heatwave in 26 mandals in the state on Monday (27-04-26), said Prakhar Jain, MD of the State Disaster Management Authority. People are advised to take appropriate precautions against heatwaves, intense sun and heatstroke.
Mandals to be affected by heatwaves tomorrow (23)
Vijayanagaram District: Badangi, Bobbili, Bondapalli, Dattirajeru, Mentada, Ramabhadrapuram, Therlam, and Wangara Mandals
Parvathipurammanyam District: Balijipet, Garugubilli, Gummalakshmipuram, Jiyyammavalasa, Komarada, Kurupam, Makkuva, Pachipenta, Palakonda, Parvathipuram, Saluru, Seetampet, Seethanagaram, and Veeraghattam Mandals;
Alluri District: It has been revealed that severe heatwaves are likely to affect Ananthagiri Mandals (23).
There is a possibility of heatwave in Vizianagaram 8, Manyam 1, Alluri 2, Polavaram 7, Anakapalle 1, Kakinada 2, East Godavari 2, Eluru 1, Markapuram 1, YSR 1 mandal (26).
On Sunday, the maximum temperatures recorded were 44.7°C in Kambham in Markapuram (G), 44.1°C in Allagadda in Nandyal (G), 43.8°C in Vyssar Kadapa (G), 43.7°C in Nagaradona in Kurnool (G), 43.5°C in Kommipadu in Palnadu (G), 43.4°C in Bhattuvanipally in Anantapur (G), 43.2°C in Sri Sathya Sai (G) Bukkapatnam, 43.1°C in Basetapally in Tirupati (G), 43.1°C in Annamayya (G) Nooliveedu, 43°C in NTR (G) Chanderlapadu, 42°C in Prakasam (G) Mogilicherla, and 41.9 degrees in Devarapalle in Anakapalle (G). He said. He said that temperatures above 41 degrees were recorded in 198 mandals of 16 districts out of 28 districts.

People should wear hats while going out in the sun. They should be careful not to let hot air enter their ears. Similarly, they should use quality sunglasses to protect their eyes. People with heart diseases, sugar and BP should not go out in the sun. They should drink lemon water, buttermilk, coconut water and fresh water more.
