On the occasion of the completion of 12 years of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Rajahmundry Member of Parliament Daggubati Purandhareshwari spoke at a media conference held here on Friday on the implementation of development and welfare schemes undertaken in the last two years.
She disclosed comprehensive details on the development programmes undertaken by the Central Government, the progress achieved in the Rajahmundry Parliament constituency under the coalition government, and the welfare schemes provided to the people.
She said that with the cooperation of the coalition government in the state, development works worth thousands of crores of rupees have been undertaken in East Godavari district in the fields of drinking water, railways, roads, agriculture, sports, medicine, education and other sectors.
Rs.324.68 crore for Jal Jeevan Mission
With the aim of providing safe drinking water to every household, work is underway under the Jal Jeevan Mission with an amount of Rs.324.68 crore. Out of this, Rs.202.02 crore has been sanctioned for Rajahmundry, Rs.94.31 crore for Nidadavol and Rs.70.05 crore for Kovvur.
She said that Rs.271.43 crore has been allocated for the modernization of Rajahmundry railway station, Rs.30.95 crore for Anaparthi and Rs.27.13 crore for Nidadavol. He said that the work is being done at a cost of more than Rs.4,812 crore for the expansion of the Nidadavol-Duvvada railway line, the construction of a 4.3 km new railway bridge over the Godavari river and the modification of railway lines.
She said that Rajahmundry-Tirupati, Rajahmundry-Mumbai, Rajahmundry-New Delhi flight services have become available and steps have been taken to provide night landing facilities at Rajahmundry airport.
Under the Khelo India scheme, an indoor stadium (Arena-2) has been constructed in Rajahmundry at a cost of Rs. 13.76 crore, while the proposal for Arena-3 is under consideration.
She said that the Central Government has supported the renovation of seats at Allu Ramalingaiah Homeopathy College. He said that plans are being implemented at a cost of Rs. 94.74 crore for the restoration of the historic Havelock Bridge and for the conservation and development of the Havelock Bridge.
She said that about four lakh farmers in the parliamentary constituency are directly benefiting from the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
MP Daggubati Purandhareshwari stated that the central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is moving forward towards making India a leading economic power in the world and efforts will continue to ensure that the fruits of development reach the rural areas.
