AMARAVATI: Anakapalle district is all set to emerge as a major industrial hub in Andhra Pradesh once again. After the groundbreaking ceremony of the ArcelorMittal steel plant that attracted national and international attention to the district, another major industrial investment is now all set to further strengthen the industrial importance of Anakapalle.

Giving a big boost to the industrial sector of North Andhra, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will tomorrow lay the foundation stone of the Rs. 5,400 crore Renew Energy Global plant at Rambilli in Anakapalle district.

Renew Energy Global will set up a 6 gigawatt solar ingot-wafer manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs. 4,200 crore, and a Rs. 1,200 crores to set up a 125 MW hybrid captive renewable power project.

Leading clean energy company ‘Renew Energy Global’ has now come forward to set up a large renewable energy plant in Andhra Pradesh with a huge investment. ‘Renew Energy Global’, one of the pioneers in the clean energy sector, has already set up renewable energy projects with a capacity of 19.2 GW in various parts of India.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is moving forward with the aim of making Andhra Pradesh a major clean energy hub. The government hopes that by strengthening the energy sector, rapid growth in industrial, agricultural and service sectors can be achieved, thereby transforming Andhra Pradesh into a renewable energy power hub.

This solar ingot-wafer unit and hybrid renewable power project are expected to provide employment opportunities to about 2,100 people and create significant job opportunities for the local youth.

Industrial investment in Uttaranchal has been on the rise since the coalition government came to power. Foundation stones for ArcelorMittal and Cognizant projects have already been laid, while TCS has started operations.

This month, the foundation stone for Google’s major international investment project is also set to be laid, further accelerating the region’s growth trajectory.

In addition, the Bhogapuram airport is likely to start operations soon, while tourism and spiritual development across the region are also progressing rapidly.
