AMARAVATI . (Delhi) As per the orders of Andhra Minister Nimmala said that the Chief Minister has explained the priority given by the state government to the irrigation sector to the Jal Shakti Minister and sought cooperation.
He said that the state government is making effective efforts to utilize the traditional water resources of the state such as rivers, reservoirs, canals and ponds.
Minister Nimmala also said that the central government is supporting the grand proposal of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to convert the underground water into a reservoir.
He explained that he has requested the center to permanently cancel the Polavaram stop work order. He also said that the center has responded positively by providing funds for the rehabilitation and compensation of the displaced people in a timely manner regarding the project.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the intention is to give all necessary permissions to the Polavaram-Nallamalasagar project,
which is proposed to utilize this waste water, as 3000 TMC of Godavari water flows into the Bay of Bengal every year, and that the two Telugu states should benefit from the utilization of Godavari waste water.
