TDP State President and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivas Rao has brought several long-standing public issues affecting thousands of families locally, seeking time-bound solutions to these issues that have remained unresolved for years, before the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Petitions Committee
The committee, chaired by Deputy Speaker and Petitions Committee Chairman Kanumuru Raghurama Krishnam Raju, reviewed a wide range of issues including land regularization, rehabilitation of displaced families, 22-A land restrictions, compensation for acquired assets, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant displaced persons, Gangavaram fishermen associations, pending Gram Sabha assurances and industrial land related disputes.
Addressing the committee, Srinivasa Rao said that thousands of families continue to suffer due to delay in resolving issues related to land tenure, rehabilitation, compensation and livelihood. He urged the government to take concrete steps with clear time frames and not just policy reviews.
The MLA also prominently mentioned the plight of Akkireddypalem farmers who have been waiting for compensation for over three decades.

Responding positively to this, the petitions committee directed the Revenue, APIIC, Urban Development and other concerned departments to submit reports on the steps taken and to resolve several issues within the stipulated time frame.
