AMARAVATI; Describing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Google Artificial Intelligence (AI) Data Centre as a historic event that will be written in “golden letters” in the history of the state, Palla Srinivasa Rao said that the centre will definitely elevate Visakhapatnam on the global technology map.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s long-held vision for a technology-driven Andhra Pradesh has now taken a tangible form, Srinivasa Rao said. He said that the seamless combination of this vision and the operational agility of Minister Nara Lokesh is a testament to the effectiveness of coordinated governance.
Terming the one-gigawatt project as part of a broader national framework, Srinivasa Rao said the state’s development trajectory is in line with the technological aspirations expressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s strong commitment, coupled with Lokesh’s contemporary policies, have further strengthened the coalition government’s resolve to make Andhra Pradesh a hub for future technologies. He argued that the huge scale of this investment is a direct result of the government’s collective vision.
Calling on citizens to mark April 28, 2026, as a historic turning point, Srinivasa Rao stressed that the event is much more than a formal launch. “It will lay the foundation for the state’s digital future,” he commented.
Visakhapatnam, which has earned the reputation of being the ‘Steel City’, is now poised to emerge as a leading AI data hub. He said that this mega project is a strong answer to the vested interests that have sought to hinder the progress of the city. Quoting Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s comments that Visakhapatnam can emerge as the world’s AI hub, he described them as a strong endorsement of the Chief Minister’s vision.
He prominently mentioned that Lokesh’s proactive engagements with corporate heads played a key role.
He accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of spreading misinformation in an attempt to gain undue fame. He urged people to grasp the facts and recognise the state’s high development trajectory.
He said that the huge investments by corporate giants like Google, Adani, and Airtel will play an integral role in making the state a global investment destination.
Srinivas Rao thanked the Prime Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for their continued support.
