AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh government has introduced a new home stay scheme to promote the tourism sector. Through this scheme, homeowners are being given the opportunity to earn additional income by renting out rooms in their homes to tourists.
Scheme Highlights: The government has issued G.O.Ms.No.32 on 08 October 2025 as a supplement to the 2024–2029 Tourism Policy.
The target is to set up 10,000 home stays in the next 5 years. About 50,000 jobs will be created and 20,000 families will be trained. The home stay should have 1 to 6 rooms (2–12 beds).Want is mandatory for the homeowner to live in the same house.
Government Incentives: PSU 100% Net SGST Refund for 7 years Electricity, Water, Property Tax at Domestic Rates Registration Fee Waiver for First 3 Years
Application Procedure
You can apply online through the AP Tourism Authority portal.
Police Verification and District Committee Approval are required. This scheme will become a good opportunity to increase tourism in rural areas and provide employment to locals.
