AMARAVATI: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has made it clear that Amaravati should be developed to uphold Telugu glory to the world… and to provide it to future generations.

He directed the officials to focus on undertaking self-finance projects in the capital. The 59th CRDA Authority meeting was held under the chairmanship of CM Chandrababu at the State Secretariat on Tuesday.

In this meeting, land allocations to be made to various institutions in the capital, creation of infrastructure to be provided in the Secretariat and HOD buildings were discussed. The CRDA Authority meeting approved various proposals received from the CRDA.

The tourism project to be undertaken at Neerukonda within the capital should be undertaken with great ambition. Steps should be taken for the development of tourism in a total area of 167 acres. This area should be developed to attract tourists and showcase Telugu glory. This project will include a waterfront, cultural center, etc.

Along with tourism, an environment should be created where various programs can be organized regularly. Hotels should be set up… Amusement parks should be developed.

The area should be designed to be very attractive. The upcoming project to be undertaken in Neerukonda should be made in a very beautiful area. The sports sector is going to be a major source of income in the future.

The biggest example of this is the BCCI and ICC organizations. Cricket boards, which once waited for funds, have now become the largest economy. Similarly, some other sports will also turn commercial. We should take care of such things. We have prepared the master plan for the Sports City in Amaravati in a similar way.

Self-finance projects should be brought to Amaravati. Prominent companies are showing interest in investing in the capital. We should constantly be in touch with such people.

“Consider the good name of the Telugu Cultural Centre to be built in Amaravati. Set up a convention centre in the capital. There is a need to build a big convention centre to organize government programmes,” the Chief Minister said.

Ministers Narayana, Payyavula Keshav, CS Sai Prasad, Urban Development, CRDA and ADC officials participated in this meeting.
