AP:Thousands of police and revenue personnel have made heavy security arrangements for the devotees who will come for Maha Shivaratri tomorrow, with pin-to-pin surveillance under CCTV cameras. The Chief Minister has directed that special attention be paid to the basic amenities of the devotees and that they be provided with divine darshan without any delay.

AMARAVATI: On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri tomorrow, the Andhra Pradesh government is making elaborate arrangements at the Shiva temples under the Devadaya Dharmadaya Department, focusing on better security, sanitation, crowd management and facilities for devotees. Thousands of heavy police and revenue officials have been deployed to ensure the safety of devotees and CCTV surveillance is being provided to ensure tight security at all Shiva temple premises, the respective district collectors and superintendents of police said.
Government arrangements have been made to ensure smooth darshan, accommodation and coordination amidst the heavy rush of pilgrims, as per the directives of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, with priority given to cultural venues, food distribution and infrastructure facilities in Srisailam and Srikalahasti. The officials reviewed the arrangements at major places like Ramatirtham and Punyagiri; and Moolasthaneswara Temple in Nellore.
Shiva Temples Count There are over 1,000 Shiva temples listed in the districts of Andhra Pradesh, which are maintained by the Endowments Department, overseeing thousands of temples in total, although private institutions are also reported to be maintaining Shiva temples in some parts of the state.

The important temples are Srisailam (Mallikarjuna Jyotirlingam), Srikalahasti (one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalas), Kaleshwaram, and Pancharama Kshetras are Ksheeraramam (Palakollu), Bhimaramam (Samalkota), Somaramam (Bhimavaram) and in the west there are Pattisam (Pattiseema) temples
