The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in the coastal and Rayalaseema regions of Andhra Pradesh in the next two days. Officials have advised the people of the state to remain alert.

Rain forecast for coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.The weak state of the South-West Monsoon indicates the most favorable conditions for the resumption of rains in our state. Rayalaseema will gain the upper hand in the rainfall in the coming days.
Today, almost all the districts of the state will receive rain. Especially in the coastal districts from Srikakulam to Tirupati district, there will be good rains and strong thundershowers from afternoon to evening.
The night and midnight hours will be more favorable for the Rayalaseema region. Anantapur, Sathya Sai, Kurnool and Nandyal districts will receive widespread thundershowers and rains.
Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada cities – Due to weak air circulation, rains are likely in areas outside Visakhapatnam city such as Gajuwaka – Anakapalle – Pendurthi – Sabbavaram in the afternoon evening. Thunderstorms are likely in Vijayawada city in the evening. Officials advise people to be alert
