Symbolically and heartily, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today launched the Auto Drivers Seva scheme by taking an autorickshaw ride on Vijayawada roads.

The Chief Minister travelled in an auto owned by driver P. Apsar Khan along with the driver’s family, formally launched the scheme, which aims to support around 2.90 lakh auto and cab drivers across Andhra Pradesh with financial assistance of Rs. 15,000 each.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh and BJP state president PVN Madhav were also present at the event, each travelling in separate autos along with the families of the beneficiaries.

The leaders embarked on a 14-km long journey from Undavalli to Singh Nagar, passing through prominent places like Prakasam Barrage, Kaleshwara Rao Market, Eluru Locks and the Government Press in Muthyalampadu. Notably, Minister Nara Lokesh was driven by a woman auto driver, T. Swarnalatha, highlighting the growing role of women in the sector and the government’s promotion of gender-inclusive livelihood opportunities.

Along the way, the Chief Minister interacted with the driver’s family to learn about their daily challenges, aspirations and aspirations. The auto rally concluded at the Makkeneni Basavapunnaiah Stadium in Singh Nagar, Vijayawada.

Before the rally began, Minister Lokesh welcomed the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and PVN Madhav with traditional Mangalagiri handloom shawls.
