ACB Director General Atul Singh made a statement ..conducted searches at the residences of Anand Rao, his family members and relatives in Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, Nizamabad, Bodhan in Telangana, and Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad.

Andhra Pradesh Kakinada District Registrar K. Anandarao, who was already suspended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials for taking a bribe, has another noose around his neck.

The ACB officials arrested him again yesterday (Thursday) in a case of assets beyond his Limites.This was informed by ACB Director General Atul Singh in a statement.

Going into details, Anandarao was arrested by ACB officials on March 28 this year on charges of taking a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from a person from Tuni to change the name of a gas agency license. He was in Rajahmundry Central Jail as part of the remand in that case and was released on bail on the 14th of this month.

However, as part of the investigation into the bribery case, the ACB officials found that Anandarao had amassed assets illegally. 

A case of disproportionate assets was registered against him. In this context, ACB officials simultaneously conducted searches at the residences of Anand Rao, his family members and relatives in Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, Nizamabad, Bodhan in Telangana, and Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad.

Based on the evidence obtained in these searches, Anand Rao was arrested again by ACB officials on Thursday and produced before the Rajahmundry ACB court judge. The judge remanded him and he was sent back to Rajahmundry Central Jail.

K. Anand Rao, a resident of Bodhan in Nizamabad district of Telangana, started his career as a stenographer in the Stamps and Registrations Department in 1995.

He was promoted to the position of Sub-Registrar in 2001 and served in various areas. Since 2016, he has worked as a District Registrar in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Rajahmundry. 

While he was serving as the Kakinada District Registrar, the ACB officials investigated and arrested him after receiving several allegations and complaints against him.
