AMARAVATI .- In the wake of the conflicts in West Asia, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has urged citizens to follow Narendra Modi’s advice and act responsibly. He appealed to the people to reduce petrol and diesel consumption, encourage work-from-home practices,
avoid unnecessary expenses and luxury trips, reduce heavy vehicle convoys, give priority to domestic tourism over foreign travel, and exercise restraint in discretionary spending, including gold purchases.
He urged citizens to inculcate the spirit of ‘My Country, My Responsibility’ in these challenging times. The Chief Minister assured that permissions will be granted to all institutions on autopilot mode. At the same time, he urged the industrialists to take responsibility for completing the projects as per schedule.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone of Bollineni Institute of Skill, Education and Research (BISER) in Nidamarru village in Amaravati, the Chief Minister stressed the state’s ambition to transform the capital into a world-class knowledge and healthcare hub.
The Chief Minister said that the implementation and inauguration of projects should be fast-tracked after the foundation laying ceremonies. He expressed hope that the proposed KIMS hospital in Amaravati should start operations by the same date in 2027.
Praising KIMS Chairman Dr. Bhaskar Rao, he stressed that the institution, which started on a small scale, has expanded into a large healthcare network and stressed that entrepreneurship is essential for wealth creation in the state and the country.
He expressed hope that the BISER initiative and the KIMS project will create a large ecosystem in the healthcare and skill development sectors as part of Amaravati’s development. The proposed ecosystem includes a 500-bed super-speciality hospital, 250 medical seats, 1,000 non-medical seats, training of an additional 1,000 healthcare professionals, and employment opportunities for about 5,000 people, including in the fields of dental and physiotherapy.
The Chief Minister stressed that there is a growing demand for doctors, nurses, technicians and paramedical staff worldwide. He said that doctors should also adapt to new technologies like AI.
Talking about industrial growth, the Chief Minister said that the state government is focused on providing employment opportunities to the youth and attracting investments. He cited the recent foundation stone laying ceremonies of major projects like Google and ArcelorMittal plant. He directed that the construction and operational timelines should be strictly followed. According to him, the Google project should be completed by August 2028, while the first phase of the ArcelorMittal plant should be completed by December 2028.
The Chief Minister announced that Amaravati is emerging as a quantum valley with companies like IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Larsen & Toubro. He said that Andhra Pradesh will become home to India’s first quantum computer by December and a 133-qubit quantum computer will be set up soon. He added that Amaravati will be able to supply quantum computing technologies to the world within two years.
Referring to the tensions in West Asia, the Chief Minister said that disruptions in energy supply and economic uncertainties are underlining the need for energy self-sufficiency. He stressed the need to accelerate green energy production through rooftop solar and decentralized power generation.
He assured that the government has reduced the cost of power procurement and that there will be no increase in power tariffs under the current government.
The Chief Minister said that the government has allocated Rs. 20,000 crore for the health sector in the state budget. He stressed the growing demand for nurses and paramedical professionals globally. He encouraged the youth to learn foreign languages to tap into global employment opportunities. He praised the AI-based visual assistive technology developed by BISER for the visually impaired.
He called for expanding digital healthcare services through the Sanjeevani platform and taking up preventive healthcare programmes along with treatment-oriented services.

Reiterating support to farmers who had provided land for the capital city, the Chief Minister said that Amaravati would be developed as a city of the future through major infrastructure projects like further land acquisition, 190 km Outer Ring Road, additional bridges over Krishna river, flyovers, airports, hotels and expansion of healthcare infrastructure. He said that both Amaravati and Visakhapatnam would be developed as globally competitive cities and Rayalaseema would emerge as a horticultural and technological hub.
