As part of the Oil Palm Plantation Expansion Mahotsav program, the Horticulture Department and Patanjali Foods Limited Palm Oil Company organized a program to distribute palm oil plants to the farmers of the village on Friday in Gokavaram village of Andhra Pradesh.

Jaggampet MLA Jyotula Nehru attended the program as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said that

Jaggampet constituency is in the forefront of the constituency where the largest number of palm oil crops are cultivated and the MLA said that palm oil cultivation should be done to earn good income.

He informed that the Bhupathipalem, Musurimilli and Surampalem projects will be connected for irrigation, which will provide 100 years of crop yield to the palm oil farmers, and thus the water problem will be solved.

V Pattabhirami Reddy, Head of Plantation Department of Patanjali Sanstha, while speaking, said that the company is taking many decisions to serve the farmers without seeking profit.
He said that he is very happy that the farmers are achieving financial stability due to this crop. He said that every farmer cultivating oil palm is serving the country by saving foreign exchange reserves.

District Horticulture Officer N Mallikarjuna Rao, while speaking, explained that Andhra Pradesh is in the first place in palm oil cultivation in the country. He explained about the subsidies from the Central and State Governments. He informed that the consumption of palm oil in the country does not exceed 25%, therefore the need for palm oil crops is high in the country.

Deputy General Manager AS Prakash, while speaking, said that a large number of farmers are showing interest in palm oil. He said that due to the adoption of new methods and mechanization in cultivation, farmers are getting higher income and the fertile soils here are very suitable for palm oil cultivation.

Similarly, he informed that palm oil cultivation is a suitable crop for all farmers and that there are farmers cultivating more than 100 acres in our organization.

The Horticulture Officer said that palm oil plants have been planted in 150 hectares in Korakoda, Gokavaram and Sitanagaram mandals in the current year 2025 – 26, and that the government is providing Rs. 29000 per plant in 1 hectare, Rs. 21000 for the first four years in the form of fertilizers and another Rs. 21000 in the form of intercropping.

He explained to the farmers about various types of incentives and subsidies being given in micro-irrigation.
