In 2014, there were only 74 airports in the country, but in the last ten years, the central government has increased their number to 166. He explained that air travel has been made accessible to the common people through the UDAN scheme.

On Thursday, the ground breaking and foundation stone laying ceremony of the pilot training center to be set up under the auspices of Jarvis Aviation Academy in Madhurapudi near Rajahmundry was held, by Rajamahendravaram BJP Member of Parliament Daggubati Purandeshwari .

She said that this is a key step forward in the development of the country’s aviation sector , that the target is to make this training center available in about six months.  in the first phase, about 30 trainees will be trained.

World-class aviation training and employment opportunities for youth she said that a state-of-the-art Flight Training Organization (FTO) is being set up in Madhurapudi under the auspices of Jarvis Aviation Academy at a cost of Rs. 100 crore. She said that this will be the first flight training organization in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

She said that about 500 people will be provided direct and indirect employment opportunities through this project in phases. She said that this will set a new direction for the aviation training sector in Andhra Pradesh and provide world-class opportunities to the youth of the state.

She said that currently only 35 flight training organizations are operating across the country with the permission of DGCA, and they are training only about 1,100 pilots per year.

She said that after the arrival of the training aircraft in the first week of September, full-scale operations will begin after the DGCA permissions are completed and the flight will be launched.

Jarvis Aviation Academy Chairman Phanindra said that Rajahmundry Madhurapudi Airport is the most suitable place for flight training. He said that there is currently a severe shortage of trained pilots in the country and companies like IndiGo and Air India have placed orders for about 2,000 new aircraft.
