AMARAVATI:  (Rajamahendravaram)  The caravan tourism launched between Vizag and Araku is receiving a great response.  Similarly, caravan, adventure and heli tourism projects should be started quickly in the joint Godavari districts and across the state.

And an action plan should be prepared to develop Kakinada, Uppada and Perupalem beaches towards ‘Blue Flag’ certification, said State Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgash.

On Saturday, the Minister held a review meeting with officials on the development of Rajamahendravaram Tourism and APTDC Kakinada Division at the Sri Ratan Tata Hub’.

Minister Durgesh opined that AP has more beautiful natural beauty than Kerala, but there is a lack of publicity. He instructed the officials to provide extensive publicity to showcase the glory of AP tourism on national and international platforms.

He said that the aim of the coalition government is to make Andhra Pradesh a world-class tourist destination.

He said that special attention should be paid to accommodation facilities for devotees coming to the upcoming Godavari Pushkaram. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, ‘tent cities’ should be set up in 21 major temples.

Famous hotels like ‘Lemon Tree’ are under construction in Rajamahendravaram, and he is instructed to promote the ‘home stay’ (mandua lodges, holiday homes) culture and create awareness among the people in tier 2 and tier 3 areas where 5-star hotels are not available.

Minister Durgesh said that the central government is fully cooperating to take the state’s tourism sector to the international level.

Minister Durgesh assured that if the officials come with a proper planning for the grounding of tourism projects in the next review meeting, they will ensure that they get full funds and permissions from both the Centre and the State Government. The concerned officials participated in the meeting.
