AMARAVATI: YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy is the main person who subjected Dalits to various types of violence and insults, said , TDP Polit Bureau Member Varla Ramaiah has exposed the many atrocities committed against Dalits under Jagan rule.

Speaking at a media conference at Mangalagiri NTR Bhavan today, he said that Jagan Mohan Reddy is a complete Dalit traitor and has tortured many people in various ways in Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan said that Dalits are like his own relatives, but his actions are the opposite. Ramaiah said that during Jagan’s rule, Dalits were considered small and looked down upon.

He pointed out the Supreme Court’s comments in the Anantha Babu case. He made it clear that YSRCP MLC Anantha Babu brutally murdered his Dalit car driver Subrahmanyam and took his body to the house of his family members, in which the Supreme Court completely opposed the police investigation.

Ramaiah said that the police and politicians worked hand in hand to protect the accused in this murder case. He expressed happiness over the decision taken by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to suspend the four police officers involved in the case.

Ramaiah said that Chief Minister Chandrababu has stood by Dalits in his political history. Ramaiah urged the Chief Minister to take decisive action against the DGP who oversaw the investigation into the murder of the then Superintendent of Police Ravindranath Babu and Range IG and to conduct a complete review of all cases registered under the YSRCP regime in which Dalits were victimised or in false cases.

The Chief Minister also requested that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) or a high-level committee be constituted to reopen these cases.

Dr. Sudhakar, who was punished for asking for a mask during Covid, Varaprasad, a victim in the ‘Ginjala Gundu’ case, a Dalit woman was raped for four days behind a police station in Rajahmundry, Kiran Kumar, who was beaten and tortured for not wearing a mask, Om Pratap, who was attacked for questioning the consumption of spurious liquor, and the rape and murder of Nagamani in Jagan’s own constituency, were all Dalits, Ramaiah said.
