Former Minister and Avanigadda MLA Mandali Buddha Prasad expressed his condolences on the demise of Chaladi Veeraghavaiah (101), a prominent social worker and popularly known as ‘Member Raghavayya’.

When Movvapalem, Mulapalem, and Narsampalem were part of the undivided Movva Gram Panchayat, he was unanimously elected three times from Movvapalem, the village of the world-renowned Kuchipudi dance form. During that time, he implemented numerous welfare and development programs in his area.Known as “‘Member Raghavayya”.

He maintained very close relations with local prominent figures such as Challapalli Raja, Mandava Venkateswara Rao, and CPI(M) leaders Guntur Bapanayya, Guntur Dhanasuryavathi, and Pathuru Ramayya,

who served as MLAs from the Nidumolu constituency, as well as top CPI(M) leaders like P. Sundarayya, Bommareddy, and Moturu Hanumantha Rao.

The deceased, Raghavayya, was the father of Chaladi Poornachandra Rao, a prominent senior journalist (UNI), General Secretary of the All India Newspaper Employees Federation (Delhi), and a founder of the Andhra Pradesh Journalists Union (APJU).
