The “Stree Shakti Divas” program was successfully organized on Wednesday at the Senate Hall of Kakatiya University under the auspices of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), KU Unit. The event was aimed at inspiring girl students towards courage, leadership, and empowerment.Speaking as the Chief Guest, KU Vice Chancellor Prof. Pratap Reddy said that girls today possess immense strength and capability to face any adversity with confidence. He stated that Rani Jhansi Lakshmibai, who fearlessly fought against the mighty British empire without losing courage even in the most challenging situations, remains a timeless inspiration to India’s freedom struggle.
He mentioned that women play a crucial role in the nation’s economic development, contributing more than 80% in various sectors. Today, women are excelling and progressing in all fields science, medicine, administration, defense, and sports—demonstrating their remarkable potential.
Special Guests KU Registrar Prof. Ramachandram and KU Dean, Student Affairs, Prof. Mamidala Estari addressed the students and stated that India is the first major democratic nation to grant voting rights to women, enabling them to participate in elections and governance from the beginning.
They encouraged the girl students to be courageous, united, and self-confident. They assured that the university administration would always stand by girl students in solving any issues they face on campus. They urged students to draw inspiration from Jhansi Lakshmibai and become role models for future generations.
ABVP State Secretary Macharla Rambabu, speaking on the occasion, said that India is a sacred land that has given birth to countless heroes and brave mothers. Among them, Rani Lakshmibai stands at a supreme position. Her supreme courage and sacrifice in the 1857 First War of Independence remain a permanent source of inspiration for today’s youth.
Dr. Bixhalu, Principal of KU Co-Education College, and KU Executive Council Member Dr. Ramadevi participated as guests.
