State Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan has made it clear that efforts will be made to realize the long-standing dream of the residents of Uttomodi islands in Avanigadda constituency of Krishna district to construct the high-level bridge at Etimoga and Uttomodi.
He said that funds will be provided from the SASKY scheme along with the cooperation of the state government for the construction of this bridge. He said that immediate steps will be taken for the restoration of outfall sluices in Avanigadda constituency.
On Wednesday, a review meeting was held at the camp office in Mangalagiri on crop loss estimates in the cyclone-affected areas of Avanigadda constituency in Krishna district, constituency development and other issues.
He said that he will find a solution to the problem of outfall sluices in the Avanigadda area with the cooperation of the central government. The meeting also directed the officials of the relevant departments to take forward the development works that were stalled for forest department clearances.
Cyclone Montha caused severe damage to crops in coastal villages across the state. Last week, when I visited the Avanigadda constituency and inspected the damaged crops, it came to my attention that tenant farmers were among the victims.
Officials say that there are more than 60,000 tenant farmers with CCRC cards in Krishna district alone. There are also a number of unregistered tenant farmers. The government should identify every tenant farmer who has suffered losses and take steps to prevent them from facing any problems.
Due to the negligence of the previous rulers, today Rs. 50 crores have to be spent to renovate the outfall sluices. A total of seven outfall sluices have to be reconstructed in the Avanigadda constituency.
We will complete the construction by allocating allocations from the National Disaster Management Fund. If necessary, we will go to Delhi and talk to the central authorities to solve the problem of outfall sluices. The officials want to take steps to ensure that the newly constructed outfall sluices are designed properly so that they can be useful to farmers for a long time.
We will provide full support for the construction of the Etimoga-Uttomonda bridge, which is the long-standing desire of 20,000 people living in Uttomonda islands. Pawan Kalyan said that NABARD funds of Rs. 109 crore have already been sanctioned for this high-level bridge planned to be built on the Krishna river.

We have allocated Rs. 13.88 crore from the Panchayat Raj Department for the construction of the road between Uttomonda and Gollamanda within the Uttomonda islands. He said that the tender process for these works has also been completed.
