Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy in Srisailam, in Andhra Pradesh. a famous pilgrimage site, on Thursday as part of his visit to Andhra Pradesh.
He said that he prayed to the Swamy that all the people of the country should be happy and healthy. The Prime Minister, along with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, performed special pujas at the temple.
On reaching Srisailam in Nandyal district, Prime Minister Modi was given a grand welcome by temple officials and priests. As per the temple traditions, the Prime Minister participated in various puja programs. The priests explained to the Prime Minister the uniqueness and historical importance of this site, which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and one of the eighteen Shakti Peethas. Later, the Prime Minister shared photos related to his visit on the ‘X’ account.
With this visit, Narendra Modi became the fourth Indian Prime Minister to visit Srisailam Mallanna. Previously, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and PV Narasimha Rao had visited this temple. This is the first time that Modi has come to Srisailam as a Prime Minister.
After visiting the temple, Prime Minister Modi visited the Sri Shivaji Inspiration Center in Srisailam. This center was established to commemorate the visit of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to this site in 1677. The Prime Minister inspected the meditation hall and the statue of Shivaji there. The organizers of the center explained its importance to Modi.

Earlier, upon reaching Kurnool airport, the Prime Minister was welcomed by Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, CM Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and Minister Nara Lokesh. As part of this visit, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for development projects worth about Rs 13,430 crore in various sectors like industries, power, roads, railways, defense, petroleum in the state.
