The protests launched by Gen Z youth in Nepal against the ban on social media, corruption, and political succession have led to violent incidents. The houses of several ministers, including Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, were burnt by the protesters.

The Parliament and Supreme Court buildings were also set on fire. This has led to a tense atmosphere across Nepal. So far, 22 people have died in these violent incidents. More than 300 people have been injured. Eventually, KP Sharma Oli resigned from his post as Prime Minister. Several ministers have also resigned from their posts. This has led to the collapse of the ruling government.

This is the real incident behind violent

Did you know that an 11-year-old girl is behind this?. An incident that happened to her led the youth to rebel against the government.  To know what really happened, you have to read this story. Going into details, in early August, an 11-year-old girl was standing at a pedestrian crossing. At the same time, a minister’s government car hit the girl. Due to which she was injured.

The Prime Minister’s car, which took it easy, tried to leave the girl there and leave. The locals caught the driver of the car. He was handed over to the police. The girl was taken to the hospital and treated. She survived. However, the police released the minister’s driver within 24 hours.

This angered the people there. Reacting to this incident, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also said that this was a small incident. This provoked them even more.

Photos and videos of the girl went viral on social media. They criticized the girl for being injured on the road, but the government car left without stopping. These posts went viral with the hashtag *Justice For The Girl.  Netizens have strongly criticized the government.

The people there are already angry with the Nepalese government due to unemployment and corruption. However, the incident that happened to the girl has angered them even more. Netizens have posted against the government on social media. They have denounced corruption and inheritance politics.

With this, the KP Sharma Oli government has decided to restrict social media on the grounds that opposition to it is growing. It has asked social media apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube and others to register with the IT department.

For this, it has set a deadline of August 28. It has said that it has taken this decision because fake news and hate speech are increasing on social media. However, even after the deadline, social media companies will not be able to register with the IT department.

With this, the government has imposed a ban on social media sites on September 4. This decision has sparked further anger among the youth.  As a result, on September 8, youths protested in the capital Kathmandu and other areas under the name Generation Z. They surrounded the parliament building. The police who entered the field used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesters. 19 people lost their lives that day in the clashes between the police and the youth. As a result, the Oli government lifted the ban on social media that night.

Then the next day (September 9) the Gen Z youth also protested. The Prime Minister and several ministers set fire to their houses. Eventually, KP Sharma Oli resigned from his post as Prime Minister. The government collapsed after other ministers also resigned.

Some more people lost their lives in the clashes that took place on Tuesday, taking the death toll to 22. Currently, the Nepal Army has taken over the powers of the government. It is trying to establish peace. It is advising people to exercise restraint.
