AMARAVATI: (Thrissur) A tragic incident has taken place in Thrissur district of Kerala.In India . A massive explosion suddenly occurred at a local fireworks manufacturing plant on Tuesday.
So far, six people have been reported dead in the incident. More than 40 others were seriously injured.
Police and fire brigade personnel reached the spot immediately after receiving the information and started rescue operations. The building was completely damaged due to the intensity of the explosion, and many are believed to be trapped under the rubble.
The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. According to doctors, the condition of at least 8 of the injured is critical. Officials are concerned that the death toll may rise further.
According to initial information, it is suspected that non-compliance with safety rules during the manufacturing of fireworks or deficiencies in the storage of explosives may have been the cause of the accident. However, the police have started investigating the real reasons.
The incident has created a sense of sadness in the Thrissur region. It seems that the government is taking steps to provide assistance to the affected families.
