The NDA coalition government in the state has completely cleaned up the endowment department within two years of coming to power and transformed AP into a new spiritual center, State Endowment Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy announced.

At a high-level media conference organized at the Secretariat, Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy released a comprehensive report on the department’s two-year good governance progress, protection of temple lands worth crores, job creation, and the 2027 prestigious Godavari Pushkarala road map.

The coalition government had given a special place to the endowment department in its manifesto and made 11 religious promises, of which 10 promises, including JIOS, were implemented 100 percent, Minister Anam said.

At the district level, special coordination committees have been appointed under the chairmanship of the District Collector, District SP and Endowment officers, and steps have been taken to ensure continuous monitoring and protection of the temples by the police department, he clarified.

The Minister stated that the involvement of officials in the decision-making process of temple festivals, puja kainkaryas and Vedic Agama rituals has been abolished, and only Vedic staff have been given full authority.

Agama scholars and TTD Vedic scholars have been appointed as special officers to supervise the Godavari Pushkaras for 12 days starting from June 26, 2027 and ending on July 7.

The Minister said that tenders have already been completed and work has started for the reconstruction of 162 temples in the Godavari catchment areas with a cost of Rs. 71.60 crore, and everything will be completed by March 2027.

He explained that the construction of ghats will be done with sanitation graphic management and the concept of ‘Green Pushkaras’ as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, and that all the Peethadhipas will be personally invited and these Pushkaras will be celebrated with their blessings.

He said that Brahmin welfare programs have been accelerated. He said that the long-standing promotion process in the Endowment Department has been completed and a transparent notification has been released for the filling of 342 vacant posts.

The Minister revealed that the annual income of the 22 main temples in the state has increased from Rs. 182 crore to Rs. 239 crore. Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy clarified that the temples are being developed as social awareness centers. ​

In this high-level review meeting, Principal Secretary of the Endowment Department Hari Jawahar Lal, Commissioner Ramachandra Mohan, Brahmin Corporation Chairman Buchi Ramaprasad and other high officials participated.
