Mysore Rajamata Pramoda Devi donated two huge silver Akhandalas (Akhanda Deepalu) to Tirumala Srivaragi on Monday.
These Akhandalas are traditional lamps lit in the sanctum sanctorum.. It is said in history that the then Mysore Maharaja donated such lamps to the temple about 300 years ago. Now, it is special that Mysore Rajamata has again donated them..
Each silver Akhandala weighs about 50 kg. She presented these huge silver akhandas at the Ranganayakula Mandapam in Tirumala.
TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and Additional EO C.H. Venkaiah Chowdhury participated in the program..
