Minister Kandula Durgesh revealed that nearly 12,000 crores of investments have been made in the tourism sector during the year, and with this, the construction of many structures has been started across the state.

On Saturday, Minister Durgesh inaugurated the Haritha Hotel (Yatri Niwas), which has completed its modernization work at Appughar in MVP Colony, Visakhapatnam, and the Tourism CRO counter near RK Beach.

Through this, tourists can book tickets for hop-on-hop-off double-decker buses traveling from RK Beach to Thotlakonda. Later, Minister Durgesh unveiled the brochure of the Vizag Food Festival – 2025, which will be held from September 5-7.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kandula Durgesh said that hotels and resorts under the APTDC jurisdiction across the state are being modernized to provide proper accommodation facilities and make them accessible to the people.

Under the auspices of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), Haritha Hotel (Yatri Niwas), located in a spacious area near Visakhapatnam, with 41 rooms, a bar and restaurant, and a meeting hall, has been modernized at a cost of Rs. 13.5 crore.

Currently, TIDA Jungles Bells is being jointly managed by the Forest and Tourism departments. CM Chandrababu Naidu said that a sub-committee comprising the Forest, Tourism, Endowments, and Water Resources departments has been formed. In this regard, he said that the modernization work of TIDA has been expedited.

Keeping in mind the lives of the people, he said that along with technical aspects, the safety of tourists is being given top priority. He said that efforts are being made to get Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) permissions for tourism revival projects.  Minister Durgesh said that he will soon talk to the central government on this issue and that when it comes to AP tourism, Visakhapatnam comes to mind first.

He said that the central government is providing more help for tourism development. He said that the Akhanda Godavari Project, Gandikota and Prasad Suryalanka Beach are already being developed, he said.

He said that temples are being developed through the Prasad scheme. Thus, Annavaram and Simhachalam sites are being developed and better accommodation facilities are being provided to the devotees. Minister Kandula Durgesh clarified that they are developing tourism in tribal areas in accordance with the 1/70 law.

He said that the seeds of tourism development have been sown in Lambasingi and Vanjangi with the help of the central government. He said that we are moving forward after overcoming technical problems. Minister Kandula Durgesh clarified that we are taking steps towards development with the aim of reviving the tourism sector in the state and giving a boost to economic growth.
