On the information that there was a fight between two groups over a dispute over a flexi in Dommeru village in the District under the jurisdiction of Kovvuru Town Police Station, Bonta Mahendra of Dommeru village brought the person to Kovvuru Town Police Station and kept the person in the police station till evening even though no case was registered. After coming to the police station, the inspector was handed over to his friends and sent home. That night Bonta Mahendra tried to commit suicide by drinking pesticide at his house, feeling insulted by the action of the police.
His friends and relatives took him to three hospitals in the districts shifting one after one and finally shifted him to Vijayawada Manipal Hospital as he was unwell, where he died in the early hours of Today morning. SP has been taking this issue as a serious matter Mahendra’s case. , because he was in the police station without any investigation till evening, the SP investigated the consequences leading to the case of the said Bontha Mahendra and based on a special report. Based on the report Sub Inspector was suspended.by DIG Eluru.
