AMARAVATI: Sun and heat waves are having a severe impact in the state. On Wednesday (22-04-26), there is a possibility of severe heat waves in 76 mandals and heat waves in another 134 mandals, said State Disaster Management Authority MD Prakhar Jain. He said that 51 mandals are likely to be severe and 94 mandals are likely to be affected by heat waves. People are advised to take precautions as maximum temperatures are being recorded.
Districts are likely to experience extreme heat waves tomorrow:
Srikakulam 19, Vizianagaram 21, Manyam 3, Alluri 4, Polavaram 5, Visakhapatnam 1, Anakapalle 15, Kakinada 6, East Godavari 2 mandals are likely to be affected by extreme heat waves.
On Tuesday, the maximum temperatures recorded were 44.4°C in Tirupati (G) Varadaiyapalem, 44.1°C in Prakasham (G) Kopperapadu, 43.6°C in Nellore (G) Kommipadu, 43.5°C in Kadapa, 43.4°C in Ananthapuram (G) Terannapalli, 43.3°C in Markapuram (G) Nandana Marella, 43.2°C in Sri Sathya Sai (G) Talupala, 43.2°C in Nandyal (G) Sanjamala, 42.9°C in Palnadu (G) Gurajala, 42.5°C in Kurnool (G) Tovi, Annamayya (G) Nooliveedu, and 42.3 degrees in Chittoor (G) Thavanampalle. It was revealed that temperatures above 40 degrees were recorded in 288 mandals.
It was advised that people should be careful not to let hot air get into their ears while going out in the sun, and those with heart diseases, diabetes, and BP should not go out in the sun. It was advised to drink plenty of lemon water, buttermilk, coconut water, and fresh water.

On the other hand, it was revealed that there is a possibility of light rain with thunder here and there in Manyam, Alluri, Polavaram, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur, and Sri Sathya Sai districts tomorrow. Farmers and herders working in the fields were warned not to stand under trees during thunderstorms.
