AMARAVATI: Chandrababu emphasized the TDP’s zero-tolerance policy regarding narcotics. He stated that no one would be spared, regardless of their status or position.
In light of criticism from opposition parties, he requested a detailed report from party leaders to assess the appropriate disciplinary actions to be taken. This signaled the initiation of swift internal inquiries, a move consistent with the TDP’s public anti-drug campaign.
The Telugu Desam Party was founded with lofty aspirations. Leaders were granted TDP tickets—with the belief that they would elevate the party to greater heights and dedicate themselves to public service—yet, upon winning and becoming elected representatives, they instead became addicted to rave parties and drugs; such conduct severely tarnishes the party’s reputation.
TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu expressed severe outrage, questioning why the party should tolerate or accommodate individuals who, despite being granted tickets on the premise of their youth and exemplary conduct, are now actively damaging the party’s image.
Chandrababu expressed his displeasure over the recent incident involving Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar. He noted that the MP’s mere participation in the rave party held at a farmhouse in Moinabad, Telangana, was itself objectionable; furthermore, the situation was compounded by the fact that he was caught consuming drugs during a police raid, resulting in a case being registered against him.
The party believes that these leaders—who were entrusted with TDP tickets in the hope that they would elevate the party to a higher stature—have instead brought disgrace upon its reputation. Consequently.
The party has concluded that permanently expelling such leaders is the only appropriate decision, as they no longer merit a place of honor within the organization.
During a meeting held with MLAs from the Tirupati district, CM Chandrababu expressed severe displeasure regarding the drugs-related controversy involving Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Yadav.
He asserted that the party has no obligation to carry the burden of individuals who commit misdeeds and cause damage through their bad habits.
He criticized Mahesh Yadav, stating that—despite having been allotted a seat with the specific intention of encouraging the youth—it was highly inappropriate for an incumbent MP to attend such parties; he further remarked that leaders of this caliber are squandering the opportunities they have been given.

Reliable sources indicate that, in light of these developments, disciplinary action—specifically, suspension—is likely to be initiated against him.
