Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has called on everyone to work for the development of the country with the inspiration of Vande Mataram. The CM participated in the 150th anniversary celebrations of Vande Mataram organized by the Culture Department at Tummalapalle Kala Kshetra on Monday.
The freedom movement was launched with the slogan of Vande Mataram. The song that brought everyone together is Vande Mataram. This Vande Mataram song was born in a village called Kanthalpara in Bengal. Bankim Chandra Chatterjee composed this song. He considered the motherland as a goddess and wrote the song ‘Vande Mataram’.
It became the first flame of nationalism. He brought it to the people through his novel ‘Anandamatham’. Later, the Vande Mataram song ignited nationalism in the freedom struggle. Vande Mataram became the song of the movement… It united all the people. Chandrababu said.
On January 24, 1950, Vande Mataram was given the status of national song. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a year-long Vande Mataram festival. We are celebrating this festival in four phases. Every Indian should remember this song forever.
This song inspired people like Lala Lajpati Roy, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bhagat Singh. The British were afraid of the Vande Mataram song… They banned it. However, the people did not back down. Facing lathi charges, arrests, and bullets, they took to the streets chanting ‘Vande Mataram’. The movement went on like a surge. As part of the freedom struggle, they did not let go of that slogan for the country. Even when they were dying, they gave up their lives chanting Vande Mataram.
These celebrations will be held for a year from November 7, 2025 to November 7, 2026. We are organizing these festivals in a total of four phases. Annaru.
