With the arrival of leading companies like Google, TCS, Cognizant, Google in Visakhapatnam, the state is emerging significantly in the IT, data center and artificial intelligence sectors in the country, said Telugu Desam Party State Spokesperson Patarla Ramesh.

Speaking to reporters in Amaravati on Wednesday, he said that the coalition government will take a step towards creating 20 lakh jobs in five years and that in the 14 months of the government’s formation, the state has attracted investments worth Rs. 10,06,799 crore and provided 9 lakh job opportunities.

He said that the state government has made significant progress in industrial growth through the incentive packages and friendly policies announced by it. In particular, it has encouraged the entry of new industries through policies such as allocating land to industries at low prices, tax exemptions, and decarbonization subsidies. The single window clearance system is being further accelerated and permissions are being given electronically, and special priority is being given to the development of ports, airports, roads, and logistics hubs.

He said that various policies have been announced to attract investments in the IT, electronics, green energy, pharma, textile, and food processing sectors. He said that new industrial corridors, SCZs, and clusters will be established to encourage new entrepreneurs. He said that training will be provided in colleges to increase the skills of students in order to provide adequate human resources to industries through skill development.

As part of the decentralization of development, the government intends to develop all the districts of the state in parallel, including the capital Amaravati.  As part of that, he said that efforts are being made to transform Visakhapatnam into an AI and IT hub. He said that Google will set up one of the largest data centers, AI City, with an investment of Rs 1.33 lakh crore.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will be set up on 21 acres and has taken the lead in creating direct jobs for about 14 thousand people with an investment of Rs 14 hundred crores.

World-renowned company Cognizant will also set up a data center on 21.31 acres and will provide direct jobs to 8 thousand people with an investment of Rs 1. 583 crores. He said that the government has allotted land to these two companies at the rate of just 99 paise per acre.

Global tech giant Google is also setting up South Asia’s largest 1 gigawatt data center with an investment of Rs 53 thousand crores and will provide employment to 25 thousand people.  He said that this has been announced by the central government agency Invest India Act (Twitter)

He praised the state Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and the state IT Minister Nara Lokesh for playing a key role in making the state an investment hub. He said that the state Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held meetings with tech giants like Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Mittal Group and TCS Chairman Chandrasekaran.

He said that the state government is working with the aim of bringing green energy and renewable energy sectors to our state at a global level. He said that the government has already approved various companies with which more than 2600 mega watts of solar window hybrid storage projects are being implemented. He said that the government has decided to make Amaravati a green hydrogen valley by 2030.

Along with these, the state government is working to attract a large percentage of investments in sectors like food processing and tourism. Patarla Ramesh said.
