On the complaint of the VRO of Vangalapudi regarding the birth of a girl child and the fact that the 15-day-old baby was thrown into the well, the then Inspector Shri P. Pawan Kumar Reddy registered a murder case , and Gandham Kanakaratnam (A1), baby grandmother Mallireddy Mahalakshmi (A2) and mother Kalla Srijana (A3) were identified as accused and arrested and sent to jail.

After the investigation, the police filed a charge sheet, Ninth Additional District Judge and Family Court Judge, Rajamahendravaram Ms. M.  Madhuri issued a judgement today to  sentenced A2 and A3 to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs.5000/- as A1 died  after trial.

According to the details provided by the police, the judge sentenced the mother and grandmother who killed a 15-day-old baby girl in Vangalapudi village under Sitanagaram police station in East Godavari district.  This incident took place on June 22, 2020.
