On December 8th, the foundation stone was laid by the hands of Union Aviation Minister Jyoti Rao Scindia and Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

The desire to develop this airport at an international level for travelers and traders going abroad from Rajahmundry is going to materialize,  With advanced technology and new flair  Air travel just got easier.  Rajahmundry MP Bharat explained to the media at Madurapudi Airport on Monday.

That the foundation stone will be laid by the hands of Union Aviation Minister Jyoti Rao Scindia and State Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on the 8th of this month with a cost of Rs 347.15 crore,  is investing in the development of Madurapudi Airport Terminal Building etc. as the largest airport in the state.

Among the six airports in our state are Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati International Airports.  He said that the runway of the airport is 3.8 kilo meters and there is no such big runway in any other airport in the state. Bharat added.

He reminded that after the YSR Congress party came to power, it was converted into a class four airport MP Bharat said,  that the construction of a big terminal building with five aero bridges like the Madurapudi International Airport is going to be taken up soon.  The MP explained that even if five big planes arrive at the same time, this terminal can be directly attached to the terminal building.

He said that this terminal building will be comfortable for 1400 passengers. He said that Air Bus 320 will also come. Henceforth, businessmen will be able to travel comfortably from Rajahmundry to Mumbai and Gulf countries, MP Bharat said.
