There is a lack of clarity on whether there will be counseling for the third phase of engineering in the state. The Council of Higher Education, which conducts three rounds of counseling every year, has limited it to two rounds this year. There will be a third phase but many students have not joined in the second phase. Others are waiting to change courses and colleges.
Minister Botsa Satyanarayana announced that initially they are considering the management of the third phase due to requests from the students. But, till now the Higher Education Council has not given any clarification on this. Students are worried about this. SC, ST, BC and poor people are mostly among those who join the convener quota.
The government pays the tuition fees for those who join the convener’s quota. Students have to bear the burden of fees if they join spot and proprietary quotas. Due to lack of clarity on the third phase, many had to join the spot and ownership quota. Counseling which should be convenient for students.. The government is trying to save the fee money..
