Elections have seen a huge cash grab of Rs 100 crore per day compared to 2019 is very high., the EC has stepped up surveillance to crack down on drug traffic and distribution of cash, liquor and narcotics..

Delhi: The Election Commission is taking all measures to ensure that the voters do not get tempted in the wake of the Lok Sabha elections.

In this order, pin to pin inspections were carried out across the country.  As a part of this, the EC revealed that the authorities have been seizing cash and other items worth an average of Rs.100 crore since March 1.  It has been announced that a total of Rs.4650 crores has been seized so far in the ongoing inspections across the country.

Compared to 2019, this is very high.  Moreover, it said that in the history of Lok Sabha elections,   He said that these inspections will be intensified to curb the flow of money and temptations in elections.  The EC revealed that border checkposts including flying squads and surveillance teams are working continuously across the country.

It said that efforts are being made to stop the distribution of cash and liquor  along with the transportation of drugs.  If this is the case, the Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1.  Counting will be on June 4.
