AMARAVATI: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that a new phase and direction will be created in the development of the state with the strategic partnership between the Andhra Pradesh government and the Gates Foundation. The Chief Minister said that the arrival of Gates Foundation Chairman Bill Gates to Amaravati will be historic and it will contribute to the empowerment of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister, who held a meeting with ministers and senior officials at the Secretariat as part of Bill Gates’ visit to Amaravati on Monday… first welcomed Gates and his team.

He said that there is no shortage of resources in AP and wealth creation needs to be done. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his confidence that the state will be number one by 2047 with the help of the Gates Foundation.

Speaking at the meeting, Bill Gates… believed that India has strong foundations for the digital revolution.  He said that Prime Minister Modi and CM Chandrababu Naidu are playing a key role in India’s digital revolution. He revealed that when he met Chandrababu for the first time, he realized that his ideas were forward-looking.

He said that only the then Prime Minister of Singapore was somewhat close to Chandrababu in this regard. He said that the majority of the projects undertaken by the Gates Foundation are in the health sector.

He said that his goal is to bring health services closer to the people. He appreciated the wonderful Sanjeevani program being implemented in Kuppam. He said that AI will help in understanding the problems of students and teaching them in the right way… at the right level.

Bill Gates, who said that AI-technology will be useful in bringing about change in the education sector, believed that the agriculture sector is very important. He appreciated the AP government’s efforts to develop the agriculture sector with the help of technology… to provide technology to farmers… and integrate AI with agriculture.

Even in developed countries, AI is not being used in agriculture to this extent… but Andhra Pradesh is taking the lead in this regard, he said. He said it is good to make early predictions with technology for disaster management… and establish a system to take precautions to prevent loss of life. Bill Gates jokingly commented at the meeting that Chandrababu is a good old friend of his.

The Chief Minister gave a presentation to Bill Gates on the Swarnandhra 2047 Vision and the policies, goals and programs currently being followed by the state government. The Chief Minister said that he is working to achieve Swarnandhra with these 10 principles: Zero Poverty, Full Employment, Skill Development, Water Security, Farmer-Agri Tech, World-Class Logistics, Energy-Fuel, Product Perfection, Swachh Andhra, Deep Tech…

The Chief Minister said that the speed of delivering governance is the policy of the AP government… For this, we are fully prepared for the future through Aadhaar verification, personal and family data lake, family information, comprehensive data of the state and central government, real-time data collection through Aware, WhatsApp governance, and the use of applications like Digi Verify.

The Chief Minister said that technology-based thematic clusters are being set up. He also explained that Amaravati is being developed as a Quantum Valley-Design-Foundry, Visakhapatnam as a Data-AI City, Kakinada as a Green Hydrogen Valley, Orvakallu as a Drone City, Lepakshi as an Electronics-Aero City, and Tirupati as an Electronics-Space City.

The Chief Minister said that key goals have been set by Swarnandhra-2047. The CM said, ‘The goal is to transform the state economy, which is currently $180 billion, into a GSDP of $2.4 trillion, while the per capita income is currently $3,400.

By 2047, it is to increase it to $42,000, increase exports from $20.7 billion to $450 billion, reduce unemployment from 4.1 percent to less than 2 percent, increase the number of female workers from 45.8 percent to 80 percent, take literacy from the current 72 percent to 100 percent, ensure that there is 95 percent skilled human resources, increase the average life expectancy to 85 years, reduce MMR to 5 per lakh births, IMR to less than 2 per thousand births, reduce the problem of anemia among pregnant women, and reduce personal expenditure on medical treatment to 5 percent.’

The Chief Minister also clearly explained the modern policies being followed in the education sector. The CM said that the ORF tool is being used to help 13.4 lakh students studying in 35,000 schools.

The Chief Minister, who said that he is strengthening agriculture and allied sectors, explained that he is taking technical assistance for the welfare of farmers. Apart from providing advice on cultivation through AI, he said that agricultural machinery including drones have been made available for use on a rental basis.

He said that a High Level Expert Advisory Group has been formed. He said that a National Health AI Strategy Workshop has been organized in collaboration with WHO and Ashoka University. He said that universal health screening, ABDM (Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission) implementation, including low-cost medical tests are being conducted. He said that the Sanjeevani pilot project has already been undertaken in Kuppam and it has been successful.

Gates revealed that better services can be provided in the health sector with AI technology… There is a possibility of providing quality, expert medical services even to remote areas.

Bill Gates believes that jobs need to be redefined with the advent of AI.
Gates explained that AI experts from all over the world will discuss the opportunities and challenges posed by AI at the AI ​ ​ Impact Summit being held in Delhi this week.
