Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar has instructed officials to prepare the necessary storage godowns in advance for storing CMR rice after the procurement of paddy in the 2025-26 Kharif season.

He said that last year’s coalition government did justice to farmers and created history in the procurement of paddy.

The minister instructed the officials to prepare godowns for storing 20 lakh metric tons of CMR rice for the Civil Supplies Department and 14 lakh metric tons for the Food Corporation of India this season.

The minister instructed that priority should be given to rice mills with dryer facilities and that AI cameras should be installed at each godown to ensure continuous surveillance.

The minister suggested that steps should be taken to ensure that rice millers submit 1:2 bank guarantees district-wise. He said that about 35 banks are providing services for this.

Delhi Rao, Managing Director, Civil Supplies, participated in the meeting through video conference. Civil Supplies Secretary Saurabh Gaur, Rice Millers Association State President Gummadi Venkateswara Rao, Secretary Suribabu, and other Civil Supplies officials were present at the event.
