Five Ayyappa devotees from Kamalapuram village of Mangapet mandal of Mulugu district went to Sabarimala in Kerala in a car. Lord Ayyappa had darshan there. Later they started the return journey in the same car. The vehicle reached the Madras bypass road in Tamil Nadu on Sunday afternoon. In this sequence, the car lost control and hit the divider.
Three Ayyappa initiates died on the spot in this accident. They were identified as Subbaiah Naidu, Narasambaiah and Raju. Another was seriously injured. The Tamil Nadu police reached the spot on receiving information about the incident. With the help of locals, the injured were shifted to the nearby hospital. The dead bodies were also taken to the government hospital. The police have registered a case on this accident. Investigating.
