Ragging in Warangal Kakatiya University has created a lot of commotion. Senior students committed ragging on junior students on Friday. Girls were among those who raged. In this incident, only 78 girls and boys students were suspended from the hostels for a week. This is the first time in the history of the university that so many students have been suspended at once.
The varsity officials found that the final year PG students were ragging in the name of contacts and collected the details of the female students who were involved in ragging in the Padmavati women’s hostel.
It was found that ragging was going on in all other departments and a total of 78 people in Commerce, Economics and Zoology departments were identified and suspended.
The varsity officials said that they are collecting the details of those who are ragging in other departments as well and if proper evidence is found, they will also be suspended.
The university officials said that Christmas holidays have been announced for all the dormitories from today Saturday to 31st of this month and the students have been advised to vacate the dormitories immediately.
