Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu commented that a new era has begun for Rayalaseema with the JSW Steel Plant. He said that with the construction of the Rayalaseema Steel Plant, Andhra Pradesh will become a steel state with ArcelorMittal and Vizag Steel. The Chief Minister inaugurated the work of the Jindal South West Rayalaseema Steel Plant in Sunnapu Ralla Palli, Jammalamadugu constituency, Kadapa district.
The CM along with JSW Chairman and CMD Sajjan Jindal and Union Minister Srinivasa Verma inaugurated the work of the plant. The CM also inaugurated the work of the JSW Neo Energy Solar Captive Power Project being constructed in conjunction with the Rayalaseema Steel Plant. JSW Rayalaseema Steel Plant will be constructed in two phases with an investment of Rs. 16,350 crore with a production capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum.
Steel production and solar projects will provide employment opportunities to 2,700 people. Neo Energy Solar Captive Power Project will be undertaken to generate solar and wind power with a capacity of 3,850 MW. JSW will set up this plant with an investment of Rs. 20,350 crore.
The CM also virtually inaugurated the JSW Industrial Park in Vizianagaram district from Jammalamadugu. JSW is setting up a state-of-the-art industrial park on 1,166 acres in Vizianagaram district. Jindal will invest Rs. 531 crore for this project. Infrastructure will be provided to set up industries on a plug and play basis.
Rayalaseema now means horticulture, rare minerals, Swarnagiri Gold Field- Royal Enfield. Kia cars, Hero bikes, drones, fighter jets, electronics, green energy. Seema is no longer a land of drought, but a green area where water art flourishes.
After the people’s government came to power, we started the plant work. Steel will be produced completely with green energy. When Visakhapatnam was in a steel crisis, we talked to the Center and got financial assistance of Rs. 11,440 crore. ArcelorMittal is setting up a steel plant in Anakapalle with Rs. 1.35 lakh crore. The Rayalaseema plant should be developed with a higher capacity than the JSW Bellary plant.
We will lay a 15-kilometer pipeline from Gandikota and supply 2 TMC of water to the steel plant. We are also ready to provide the highest quality raw iron ore in the Rayalaseema region to the plant. “We will make arrangements to ensure road, rail and port connectivity,” the Chief Minister clarified.
Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and CMD of Jindal South West Limited, said that leaders with visions like Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu are very rare in the country. He commented that it is an honor for him as an industrialist to work with leaders like Chandrababu, who are constantly working for the development of the country. He said that the Rayalaseema Steel Plant, which is being built with a capacity of 2 million tons per year, will be further expanded.
Union Minister Srinivasa Varma, State Ministers Savita, Gottipati Ravikumar, BJP President PVN Madhav, MLA Adinarayana Reddy and others were present at the event.
