AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has urged Telugu people who are settling abroad and creating wealth not to forget their homeland. On the first day of his five-day Singapore visit, on Sunday, he participated in the Telugu Diaspora from Southeast Asia program at the premises of the One World International School located locally.
Telugu people settled in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia attended this program. When the CM arrived at the assembly premises, all those present stood up and cheered.
The program, which started with the singing of Maa Telugu Thalli, was filled with Telugu spirit throughout. Chandrababu, who participated as the chief guest in this program, explained the development taking place in AP and the objectives of his visit to Singapore. Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu said.. “The Telugu people have embraced the changing developments in the world.
The reforms brought by the Telugu Desam government when it was a joint state changed the lives of the Telugu people. Telugu people have settled in more than 120 countries around the world. If you go to any country and speak Telugu loudly, the Telugu people there will disappear within ten minutes. Not only do Telugu people go to many countries in the world.. they earn more than the locals in those countries.. the per capita income of Telugu people is much higher than that of the locals in America.
People like Nadella Satya are CEOs of famous companies like Microsoft. While providing services to many companies in the world.. our Telugu people have settled in various countries. 40 thousand Telugu people live in Singapore. In whichever country Telugu people have settled.. that country is their karma bhoomi.. that has provided opportunities for them.
They should work for the development of the country. At the same time, Telugu people should not forget their birthplace. India.. Andhra Pradesh Their birthplace. Telugu people should work for the development of that birthplace. They should invest. They should help the poor there. In India, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, you have risen to this level with the taxes paid by the people.. You have got many opportunities. So, working for the development of the birthplace.. making investments should be taken as a responsibility. No matter which country I go to… I will definitely meet the Telugu people there.” The CM said.
There is less corruption in Singapore. Not a single piece of paper is seen on the roads of Singapore. Singapore implemented the system of converting garbage into energy a long time ago. I have implemented the same type of system in Hyderabad city. Many political leaders come to Singapore and enjoy it and go.. But the AP CM comes here and implements the good work he has done, said former Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.
If our government continues in 2019 too.. Amaravati would have reached the level of Singapore. But there was a gap in the 2019 elections. We should ensure that such mistakes do not happen again. “This responsibility is not just mine…it’s yours too.” Chandrababu responded emotionally.
Andhra Pradesh will be the logistics hub of India. We are working with Gates Foundation and Tata companies in the health sector. Many Telugus are in key positions in leading companies abroad. Such people can provide their experience to AP. They can invest..be service providers..whatever you want to do..the government is ready to fully cooperate. Once Telugu s were only employees abroad. But now they have become industrialists. We will think about how Telugus can move forward in those countries.
We will provide services through the NRT department. Not only IT.. I will also promote industrialists. We will try to partner Telugu industrialists with industrialists in different countries. We will take the initiative to sign MoUs between them.
AP respects industrialists. Only if wealth is created..income for the government..only if this happens can we achieve welfare. Not to reduce poverty through the P4 program I have started the Poverty Mission. Adopt the poor in your villages. If the Telugu people settled abroad.. are partners in P4.. I will have no greater happiness than that. Chandrababu said.
The country’s identity and stability came because of Modi. At a time like this, the sky is the limit. Narendra Modi is going with the slogan of Vikasit Bharat. I am going ahead with the Swarnandhra Sankalp.” He said.
Singing at the Telugu diaspora program, Indian High Commissioner to Singapore Shilpak Ambule said that the Telugu people in Singapore have been waiting for Chandrababu’s arrival for a long time.
He said that AP will be a haven for investments in various sectors. He suggested that Telugu people settled in Singapore should work for the development of tourism in India and AP.
