Students appeal to the government to build a National Tourism University in Visakhapatnam that will provide skills to excel in the tourism and hospitality sectors, which play a key role in the economy of Andhra Pradesh

In view of the increased interest in tourism among people across the country, there is a need for the development of tourist destinations in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Minister Kandula Durgesh said.
On Thursday, Minister Kandula Durgesh and MLA Ganta Srinivas Rao visited the Sun International Institute of Tourism and Management College in Dwarkanagar, Visakhapatnam, at the request of the concerned management.
They have requested the Center to establish a National Tourism University in Andhra Pradesh to attract tourists and provide skills to students in this field.
They said that this will give the state an opportunity to develop skilled youth. Minister Kandula Durgesh told the students that Andhra Pradesh, which has a rich historical and cultural background and diverse tourist destinations, is suitable for a National Tourism University and has requested the Center to keep this issue under consideration.
He said that the hospitality sector is expanding day by day and there are wide opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sectors, which play a key role in the economy. He advised the students to study well and excel in order to avail them. He said that tourism is developing in the state and many investments are coming in hotels, restaurants, resorts and other places.

On this occasion, the students requested that it would be good to establish a university in Visakhapatnam, which has all the opportunities. Minister Durgesh said that he will discuss this issue with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and take an appropriate decision.
