Amaravati: Chief Minister Chandrababu has directed that the various development works undertaken by the State Tourism Department be completed in a timely manner.
Specifically, he instructed that the works related to the Godavari Pushkar Ghat in Rajahmundry, East Godavari district—as well as the project to allow tourists access to the Havelock Bridge—be completed by December of this year.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the need to ensure the speedy completion of projects approved by the State Investment Promotion Board.
He further directed that the target of constructing 50,000 hotel rooms by 2029 be achieved, and that steps be taken to make 10,000 homestays available for tourists.
Today, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu conducted a comprehensive review meeting regarding the Tourism Department at his camp office.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Tourism, Kandula Durgesh; the Chairman of the Tourism Development Corporation, Nookasani Balaji; and senior officials of the department.
Orders issued to formulate an action plan for establishing amusement parks in Visakhapatnam and Tirupati.
The Chief Minister also provided suggestions regarding the registration of caravans and the establishment of caravan parks.
He directed that projects be undertaken—in coordination with the Forest and Endowments Departments—to promote Eco-tourism and Temple tourism.
The CM mandated that development projects for various temples and tourist attractions, under the PRASHAD and Swadesh Darshan schemes, must be completed by May 2026.
Tourism Department officials informed that proposals seeking an additional ₹663 crore under these two schemes have been submitted to the Central Government.

The Chief Minister issued directives to develop Gandikota, Suryalanka, Araku, the Borra Caves, and other such locations into prominent tourist hubs.
