Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan appealed to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to develop the Pithapuram railway station as a model railway station under the Amrit scheme, given its spiritual significance.
He also requested that basic amenities be provided for the convenience of devotees who come from far-off places for darshan, as Pithapuram is home to one of the Ashtadasha Shakti Peethas and the sacred site of Sri Pada Sri Vallabha Swamy.
As part of his Delhi visit, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan met with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday afternoon. In addition to these, Mr. Pawan Kalyan discussed several pending railway projects in the state.
Pawan Kalyan requested Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to develop the Pithapuram railway station as a model station and to include the road overbridge project under the PM Gati Shakti scheme.
They discussed the development of the Pithapuram railway station, the construction of the road overbridge, and several other issues.
He requested that the road overbridge sanctioned under the Setu Bandhan scheme be brought under the purview of the PM Gati Shakti scheme. He clarified that this will be in line with the 2030 National Rail Plan and will help in eliminating level crossings and controlling traffic.
In addition to this, Mr. Pawan Kalyan discussed several pending railway projects in the state. Mr. Pawan Kalyan expressed his gratitude to Ashwini Vaishnaw for responding positively to his request.
