Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that there is a need to encourage MSMEs more to ensure that all sectors in the state are on the path of development.
Keeping this in mind, the Chief Minister advised bankers to provide support to micro, small, and medium enterprises. He clarified that to ensure the benefits of development reach everyone, more encouragement should be given to MSMEs belonging to BC, SC, and ST communities.
On Friday, the 233rd and 234th state-level bankers’ meeting was held at the state secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The Chief Minister returned to Andhra Pradesh on Friday after concluding his Davos visit. Immediately upon his arrival, he directly attended the SLBC meeting. He reviewed the implementation of the 2025-26 annual credit plan. He also reviewed the implementation of MSME and agricultural loans.
The bankers revealed that so far, loans are worth Rs. 2.96 lakh crore have been given to agriculture and allied sectors as part of the annual credit plan. The bankers informed the Chief Minister that agricultural loans worth Rs. 1490 crore have been provided to tenant farmers, and loans worth Rs. 95,714 crore have been issued. Chandrababu stated that they are seeking encouragement from bankers to further expand natural farming.
The central government is also ready to provide VGF (Viability Gap Funding) for PPP projects. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu clarified that no one in the state should be in a situation where they have to take loans from private individuals. He stated that people should be able to approach banks for loans for any need, including agriculture, and that bankers should work towards this goal.
He said, “We intend to make Amaravati, the capital city, a hub for financial institutions. We will also take steps to overcome the technical difficulties faced by bankers in providing loans for TIDCO houses. We are making efforts from our side to resolve the issue… bankers should also cooperate.”
He added, “Banks are levying 15 types of charges on DWCRA group bank accounts. Bankers should reduce these charges. From now on, also invite the Collectors to the state-level bankers’ meeting.” The bankers informed the Chief Minister that they are providing support from various banks to those starting industries through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub.

Ministers Payyavula Keshav and Kondapalli Srinivas, Chief Secretary Vijayanand, the MD of Union Bank, the RBI Regional Director, the NABARD GM, representatives from various banks who attended the SLBC meeting, and the Directors of the National SC/ST Commission were present at the state-level bankers’ meeting.
