With his dedication, Chandrababu Naidu further strengthened the Telugu Desam Party founded by NTR and provided the people of Andhra Pradesh with a governance akin to Rama Rajya. At the same time, through his balanced administration, he also brought worldwide recognition to the state.

In 1982, N.T. Rama Rao founded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). His key objectives included challenging the Congress party’s dominance, primarily in Andhra Pradesh, safeguarding Telugu cultural identity and self-respect, and combating corruption while prioritizing the welfare of the poor said TDP State Official Spokesperson Patharla Ramesh
His key objectives centered on Telugu pride (“the self-respect of the Telugu people”). His main goals included providing popular measures such as subsidized rice at ₹2 per kilogram, housing for the poor, decentralization through mandals, women’s empowerment through property rights, and infrastructure development such as irrigation projects.
Under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu since 1995, the party has become even stronger. Patharla Ramesh stated that all the schemes proposed by NTR were fully implemented, and that “Chandrababu’s rule resembled the ideal rule of Ramarajayam” making every day a celebration for the people of Andhra Pradesh.
The TDP echoes NTR’s welfare vision through schemes such as the NTR Bharosa Pension , unemployment allowance, student assistance under “Thalli ki Vandanam,” and farmer support in the 2024 “Super Six” manifesto.
These align with NTR’s people-centric philosophy (“Society is the temple, and the people are the gods”), which includes pensions and subsidized food reminiscent of his original programs.
While the fulfillment of promises such as pensions and certain welfare schemes were implemented quickly after the 2024 victory, broader promises like 20 lakh jobs and gas cylinders remain in the planning stages even a year later.
This blends NTR’s popularity with Naidu’s development vision (e.g., IT hubs, Vision 2020). Critics note the slower implementation compared to past administrations, but the TDP maintains that it is upholding NTR’s legacy against its opponents.

On this occasion, Patharla Ramesh paid rich tributes to the late leader and former Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on his 30th death anniversary.
