108TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY OF TES-44 COURSE AT MCEME

20 Officers of the Technical Entry Scheme TES-44 Course including 04 Officers from Friendly Foreign Countries were awarded B Tech degrees during the 108th Convocation Ceremony conducted at the Military College of Electronics & Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad, on 22 December 2025. The degrees were conferred by the Chief Guest, Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, AVSM, VM, VSM, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC).
The prestigious GOC-in-C ARTRAC Trophy, Best Student Book Prize, and DGEME Gold Medal were awarded to Lt Yash Kumar for securing the distinction of Overall Best Student of the course. Lt Kuenga Tandin of Bhutan Army and Lt Shivraj Pradip More were awarded the Commandant’s Silver Medal for topping the Mechanical and Electronics streams respectively.
In his address to the graduating course, Air Marshal Dixit lauded the Officers on completing a defining phase of their professional journey and assuming higher responsibilities as Technical Officers of the Indian Army. He underscored MCEME’s pivotal role in imparting robust engineering acumen, systems thinking, and discipline, which will form the bedrock for operating in increasingly complex, technology-driven battlefields. Drawing upon recent operational experiences of Op Sindoor, he highlighted the evolving character of warfare and the imperative to seamlessly integrate leadership with technology. He emphasized ethical and people-centric leadership, adaptability, and lifelong learning as critical to future conflicts. He also congratulated the proud parents on this milestone in the professional career of budding Officers. All of these Officers would be joining their first units after receiving their Degrees.
As part of the ceremony, an exhibition of innovative projects developed by the graduating Officers was also organized, showcasing advancements in emerging technologies and highlighting the spirit of Atmanirbharta in defence technology. The project “Automation Software with the help of AI for Streamlining the Results & Gradings of the Degree Course over 8 Semesters” developed by Lt Gopal Singh, Lt Irwindeep Multani, Lt Shivraj More and Lt Tandin Wangchuk was adjudged the Best Project.
Air Marshal Dixit interacted with Lt Gen Neeraj Varshney, VSM, Commandant, MCEME & Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME and visited various Faculties of MCEME. He was shown the newly developed emerging technology labs for Drone Warfare, Robotics & Unmanned Systems and Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing. The CISC was also briefed on advanced training methodologies, ongoing R&D projects towards indigenisation, and modern infrastructure supporting advanced weapon systems, aviation assets, electronic warfare equipment, and communication technologies that underpin the Indian Army’s operational readiness. The Commandant of MCEME apprised the dignitary about MCEME’s initiatives aligned with the Indian Army’s Decade of Transformation, and MCEME’s steadfast focus on innovation, solving problems of field army and excellence in military engineering education and training. Air Marshal Dixit also felicitated Officers & Technicians for their exemplary achievements by awarding on-the-spot Commendation Cards to Officers & JCOs in recognition of their excellent devotion to duty and performance.
